It’s not exactly secession, but California’s 2018 ballot might sport a measure to instruct the governor to push the federal government to keep its nose out of the state’s business. It would also repeal California statutes that recognize the U.S. Constitution as the “supreme law of the land.” Supporters of the measure are now trying to gather the 600,000 signatures needed for the item to earn a spot on the ballot.
