Red_Star_OS_bootsplash_cutNorth Korea’s brand new custom-built operating system is a prime example of authoritarian control in the digital era. Geek.com says that Red Star, piggy-backed on Linux, is basically an “espionage software with an operating system slapped on top.” Designed purposefully to minimize external media, it monitors the user by employing a sophisticated file-tagging system.
