A May 27 International Business Times article describes Greece’s healthcare system, “gripped by a catastrophe. … Hospitals are at breaking point with facilities lacking in the most essential supplies… .”
Much as in Western Africa before the Ebola epidemic, social mood in Greece has been trending negatively since 2008. This increases the country’s risk of disease outbreaks and other poor health outcomes when its healthcare system is already weak.
