Times are hard in Hungary, where the Budapest Stock Exchange is down 40% from its 2007 high. And in the town of Megyer, the mayor has devised an unusual plan to raise money for upgrades. Those with the means can now rent the entire town for a daily rate of 500 pounds (768 dollars) per day, according to a February 28 article in The Independent. Megyer has a population of 18 people, six horses, two cows and three sheep. It comes with guest houses that sleep about 40 people.
