The director of the Centers for Disease Control describes the Ebola outbreak in West Africa as “out of control.” A September 2 article in Inside Higher Education says a number of universities plan to test students from West Africa for the disease. Ebola has infected more than 3,000 people, including another missionary doctor from the US. It has claimed more than 1,500 lives—a survival rate of less than 50%.
