This week, a federal court judge called NSA’s pervasive collection and analysis of metadata “almost-Orwellian” and ordered the agency to halt its blanket surveillance. Wired says this is the first time a federal judge has weighed against the NSA program. Today, advisors commissioned by President Obama, recommended strict limitations on the NSA’s spying behavior and also a reform of the secret Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court.
