A peculiar and unprecedented chapter in race relations occurred in the US last week. In a secret, heavily guarded meeting, the Wyoming chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) and a local Ku Klux Klan (KKK) organizer met to discuss race relations. The Southern Poverty Law Center said the encounter was the first of its kind. In fact, the KKK organizer applied for membership in the NAACP in order to receive the group’s newsletters.
