They're Mad As Hell - Are They Gonna Take It Anymore?

GAINESVILLE, Ga. / October 18, 2010 – Remember the Republican Revolution of 1994 when an angry electorate dramatically changed the political landscape?  The 2010 November election is shaping up to be even bigger.

In a series of reports, The Socionomics Institute, whose research further says the animosity will not end with the election, forecast the political trends now making headlines:

- Increasing polarization

- Third party popularity

- Rampant anti-incumbency

- Powerful women politicians

Researchers at the Georgia-based think tank say social mood—reflected best by the stock market—shapes social events, among other cultural, economic and social trends. Declining mood has already brought the political scene mentioned above, which The Socionomics Institute says has only begun: "All of this is but a shadow of what is to come … as social mood becomes more negative, people increasingly distrust governments…. Big bear markets bring radical change, seeking even to destroy the political establishments created during the previous bull run."
