Gun buyers grew increasingly concerned that the administration would impose new gun controls, yet Obama said such worries were “overheated” and “imaginary fiction.” A recent Newsweek article suggests Donald Trump’s rise to the presidency has since allayed buyers concerns and tempered gun sales, which are down 17 percent this year alone.
